Tai Chi Chuan is practiced for health and self- defense. It is a complex martial and healing system that can take a lifetime or more to master. Don;t let that stop you. Through the practice of Tai Chi, your life will gain a sense of wholeness and peace.

Michele and I teach Tai Chi and Chi King to students, friends and families because it helps each and every aspects of our lives. It is an enrichment, not a work-out that you do because you must. It is play. We play Tai Chi because we all need to play.We all still do the work out that you need to keep health. Tai Chi and Chi Kung brings art to life through movement. Moving meditation that is martial. What heals can also fight.

People today are missing the forest and the trees.Swept up in survival mode, we find that by taking time for Tai Chi we improve our life conditions.

Michele discovered early on, as my senior student and assistant, how much Tai Chi/ Chi Kung reduced her stress. It also gives her bones the work out they need. Michele has a small structure and as she ages she wants to keep what what she has. She has a great program.

Redhawk Tai Chi/Chi Kung exercise is a careful sequence of movements and skills that everyone can learn, like Yoga. We teach standing Chi Kung stances, Rocking Chi Kung Movements. Tai Chi Stretches and Chi Kung Forms. These increase coordination, flexibility and might be considered a cross over form of Yoga. Come join us.

Blog EntryWhat is Chi Kung?Feb 24, '08 6:41 PM
for everyone

In some ways, Chi Kung exercise is the foundation of martial arts. Chi Kung exercises can be practiced for health and power building. There are thousands and thousands of Chi Kung systems and movements. practicing Chi Kung appears simple, but like Tai Chi Chuan it is very challenging. The challenge comes from the sustained use of deeper muscles and the concentration required- to name a few.

The complex and multipurpose nature of the martial and healing arts often confuses people in the beginning. Americans are used to " pumping it up" working hard, and building up endurance. Chi Kung and Tai Chi Chuan work with developing and enhancing Chi or energy.

When we practice Tai Chi- we always begin with Chi Kung forms to develop ourselves. We call this Tai Chi exercise because it is not really Tai Chi nor is it purely Chi Kung. We know that to begin to develop your practice- you will be developing new abilities that go against the grain of your concept of exercise. So we try to make if fun. We want to refresh your energy and rekindle your love of life.

We love to see people working with their own power. Above you see Geri Holton and Maryann Chinn practicing a Tai Chi form.

Ever feel like you are being boxed into a corner by Life ? This is  a by product of our beliefs and conditioned reactions, but almost never true. Tai Chi provides you with a daily opportunity for inner listening. You are free.

This is how we do it:

When we practice Tai Chi /Chi Kung we slow the mind and breath down. We shift the weight so that we experience balance and coordination. The soft, slow movements trains the body  to become strong and agile again. We develop our instinct in a natural, harmonious method that is relaxed. We release our tensions from the past and we learn how to avoid accumulating more.

Tai Chi Chi Kung is a process of learning about who you really are as you listen to your body move and breathe. The mind lets go and the habitual fades away. CHI increases and so does happiness. Nothing and nobody can BOX you in-  So spread your wings!

Blog EntryAvery shows us the power of her inner smile Dec 30, '07 2:23 PM

Young babies are still in tune and a part of the universal source of energy and CHI. We are  linked to the source and our innate ability to smile is the a foremost aspect of our  development. A primary practice of Tai Chi/Chi Kung is to reconnect to this in a mediation, called ( no surprise), "The Inner Smile." { more about this later}

The inner smile is a often seen on the face of the person as they practice Tai Chi or Chi Kung. The smile sends a positive message to the inner organs, nervous system and the entire body. The first year of life is indeed a powerful time of growth.

Our first  breath links us in through the lungs as we exit the embryonic portal of the womb into this world. So the first year of life should be one of welcoming! We gain so much from our interaction with  babies. Can you remember it? not likely ,but when you calm your mind and and smile you can learn. Smile

Blog Entry2008 : A Year for HarmonyDec 27, '07 3:08 PM
for everyone

Welcome to Redhawk Tai Chi Chuan. A place to discover how to change your life, lifestyle, health and happiness. There are many theories including; social, political, psychological, religious, spiritual, economic and cultural about how and why human beings change. The best way to understand all the human elements of change is to try!

As you study, practive and integrate the harmony and wellbeing of Tai Chi/Chi Kung into your daily life, you will learn from all of them. When people harmonize the mind, body and spirit in simulcast( simultaneously) you benefit. It matters little where you are or who you are, when you do something positive for the human being directly- you add to a positive. You are a positive, which is important to remember as there are so many ways that we are constantly told otherwise.

Lifestyle Change

We want you to visit our website often and to make friends with your Inner Sensei. My Inner Sensei looks remarkably like my husband, which is helpful because he is the one who instructs me and helps guide my progress. The actual practice of this art, like all true arts is challenging. The Inner Sensei can take many forms, and I am just as active in his inner life, perhaps as a creative source and to build bridges.

Tai Chi Chuan is a way to develop your lifestyle and energy. In the twenty-first century there are no barriers to your growth. Gone are the days when you had to travel to meet the great teachers by traveling to China, Thailand or India. You can study and learn wherever you are.
